Putting the Pieces Together – Resource for Schools

Using the recorded testimonies of people living with HIV, Positively Women have developed a unique and exciting resource to bring to life the issues surrounding HIV and the reality of living with HIV in the UK today. Over four to five sessions students explore the lives of the men and women before, during and after their diagnosis. It provides students with the opportunity to appreciate the perspectives of others, question stereotypes, assumptions and discriminatory behaviour, while clarifying their knowledge of HIV and sexual health. Working with this resource will also encourage students to realise that sex and relationships education is about issues that could happen to them and that are relevant to their lives. The full pack containing sound clips and other teaching resources is available on a CD Rom from Positively Women and is free to schools and community centres. Contact info@positivelyuk.org with the words 'Schools Pack' in the subject, or call 20 7713 0444.
